We’re here to expand your horizons.

Great tea starts long before the water boils. For us, it starts in the quiet, controlled chaos of Cultures Mushroom Farm in Williamsford, Ontario.

This is Michael’s domain. It’s here that he grows the strange and beautiful fungi you might not see at your average grocery store: the multi-coloured fans of the Oyster family, the tall, sturdy "conks" of Reishi, and the shaggy pearl globes known as Lion’s Mane.

But growing a functional mushroom isn't just about letting things rot in the dark. It’s a precise art. Here is exactly how we do it.

The Spores

Everything begins with a tiny "spark" of life: the mycelium culture. We source ours strictly from reputable Canadian growers to ensure the genetics are strong, clean, and ready to work.

You Are What You Eat(And So Are Mushrooms)

This is the most important part of the story.
Mushrooms are what scientists call
"remediators." Think of them like a sponge; they absorb everything from their environment. If you grow a vegetable in poor soil, you get a poor quality vegetable. The same rules apply here.
Once the mycelium starts to consume (or "colonize") its home, the quality of that home determines the medicinal quality of the mushroom.

The Gourmet Diet

Most commercial growers take shortcuts. They bulk up their mushrooms on cheap wheat grains and soy. It’s fast and easy, but it introduces inflammatory properties into the final product.
We take the scenic route.
We introduce our cultures to pure, clean Canadian hardwood, then supplement that wood with a gourmet blend of certified organic flax and sunflower meal.
Why? Because these seeds are packed with healthy fatty acids, proteins, and lignans. By feeding this premium diet to the mushrooms, they absorb those nutrients, becoming potent, nutrient-dense powerhouses.
We feed them the good stuff, so they can do the same for you.

The Big Chill

Once the mushrooms have fully colonized the wood and bloomed into their fruit bodies, we harvest them at their peak.We don’t dry them with high heat (which can cook away the benefits). Instead, we use freeze-drying.
This locks in the nutritional profile exactly as nature intended, preserving the potency until the moment it hits your hot water.
